The Stratos™ 2700 from Honeywell is their first hybrid bioptic in-counter scanner, combining omnidirectional laser scanning and integrated area-imaging to provide a platform for bar code reading optimized for the checkout experience. The Stratos 2700 is ideal for traditional checkout lanes as well as self-checkout systems with its hybrid platform delivering rapid pass-through scanning. It can handle linear bar codes, 2D bar codes, and mobile bar codes, allowing retailers to stay current as technology advances.
The Stratos 2700 has field-upgradeable hardware modules, including scales and EAS antennas, and was designed with both current and future needs in mind. It also supplies a live video feed via Honeywell’s LCD display allowing for greater in-store visibility for tasks like monitoring under the cart items. This functionality reduces the difficulty, costs, and risk associates with the deployment of visual loss prevention systems and addresses a common problem for retailers.
It is easily serviceable, employing a “single tool” architecture that minimizes the time and equipment needed for repair. The LCD display on the Stratos 2700 can also display full text diagnostic messages that allow for easier troubleshooting of problems. Finally, with Honeywell’s Remote MasterMind™ device management software, IT professionals can manage their entire bioptic install base and connected devices from a central location.
