Integrated Solution Allows Customers to Control Dining or Entertainment Experience From Personal Smart Phones
Epson America, Inc., a leading supplier of value-added Point of Sale (POS) solutions, recently announced that e|tab, a provider of affordable hospitality and restaurant self-service technologies, has certified three Epson printers for use with its web, mobile and in-store ordering solutions. e|tab chose the Epson Omnilink TM-T88V-i and OmniLink TM-T20II-i intelligent printers and the TM-U220B Ethernet kitchen printer to help improve operating efficiency. The solution is available from e|tab today and will be shown at TRANSACT15, Moscone Center, San Francisco, March 31 -April 2, Epson booth #909.
e|tab’s self-service ordering application leverages Epson’s ePOS print and Server Direct Print technologies to manage tasks as well as orders that come directly from customers’ smart phones, tablets or personal computers. The OmniLink TM-T88V-i acts as a printer hub and sends specific tasks to the appropriate TM-U220B kitchen printer and can also communicate with e|tab’s cloud server to check on orders, which ensures the highest level of order processing.
“By providing a free application that enables customers to place orders, request service and pay their bills with their own smartphones, e|tab is a truly innovative self-service technology company,” said Tom Kettell, director, commercial channel sales at Epson “By integrating this with our seamless and smart printing solutions, e|tab can further facilitate the way customers want to be served and expedite ordering while ensuring reduced operating delays.”
“Every restaurant customer has experienced the frustration of having no access to online ordering at their favorite restaurant or their order request being missed or delivered late,” said Jeff Stein, president at e|tab. “We were looking to partner with a printer company that could complement our self-service mobile app to provide restaurant operators with an easy and reliable solution that integrates with their current kitchen workflow. Our joint solution with Epson enables them to prepare orders more quickly, more accurately and more efficiently than ever before.”
