Datalogic Receives First Prize in Digital & Technological Innovation in the App Category
Datalogic, a global leader in Automatic Data Capture and Industrial Automation markets, and world-class producer of bar code readers, mobile computers, sensors for detection, measurement and safety, vision systems and laser marking equipment, has been awarded the first prize in the Digital and Technological Innovation – App category at the Italian POPAI Awards 2016.
Each year, POPAI, an international non-profit association whose sole mission is to promote point-of-sale culture as a whole, recognizes worldwide excellence in retail with its awards. The Datalogic products selected by the panel were Shopevolution 7 and the Joya Touch handheld device. These two important innovations for the retail sector will soon be launched internationally by Datalogic.
Shopevolution 7 is a multi-channel software platform, operating in-cloud and on-premises, able to manage several stores simultaneously, delivering substantial time savings and cost reduction. The software can be easily integrated with any type of POS, for self-payment applications and loyalty program management. The Shopevolution 7 architecture is compatible with all Joya handheld device models from Datalogic and with other devices and Smartphones. Shopevolution 7 supports the new Joya Touch device which was also recognized with an Italian POPAI Award.
The new Joya Touch multi-purpose device from Datalogic delivers a more dynamic and interactive multi-channel shopping experience. Its predecessor, the Joya, is installed in over 700 stores by major retailers worldwide. Joya Touch is a multi-purpose device designed for several applications, including Self-Shopping, Queue-Busting and all Store Floor activities such as shelf stacking, price checking, inventory and more. Joya Touch will be available in two different versions, pistol grip or hand-held, both with Wi-Fi, the largest touch display in its category, and SoftSpot - the exclusive, proprietary Datalogic technology that allows the placement of a virtual trigger anywhere on the large display to activate bar code reading.
Francesco Montanari, VP and GM of the Mobile Computing BU, commented: “We are proud to have received such an important recognition, which bears witness to Datalogic’s excellence at offering its customers cutting-edge technology through its reliable and innovative products.”
Luigi Frison, Store Automation Director added: “Joya Touch and Shopevolution 7 are the ideal combination to revolutionize the shopping experience. Thanks to the know-how and experience of Datalogic, a result of more than 40 successful years in the business, retailers can offer their customers a purchase experience which is enjoyable, speedy and high-end, resulting in increased brand loyalty and reduced operating expenses.”
